“Jim (SJB) served as the assistant project manager (under contract) for our corporate

relocation and build-out program. Approximately two-thirds of the way through the

project I increased his responsibilities that of project manager (due to an illness). Jim is

a hard-working self-starter who quickly understands exactly what a project is all about

from the outset, and how to get it done quickly and cost effectively. Jim's

responsibilities consisted of facilitating end-user groups to develop needs, turning those

needs into written specifications and effectively communicating those results to the

architects and engineers. These activities covered a wide range of needs, from

production equipment, chemical and radiation labs, computer system infrastructure

needs, and office layouts. During this time he demonstrated strong skills in team

building and when required, resolved  conflicts between inter- divisional and outside

services to maintain project goals. During the construction phase of the project he

provided customer site representation. His attention to detail and ability to communicate

effectively resulted in the successful relocation of 200+ personnel, electro/mechanical

production lines, computer systems and engineering staff. During the start up phase of

the project he coordinated the daily physical plant operations and maintenance of

chemical R&D labs, dark rooms, x-ray facilities, conference facilities, etc. He also

assisted in developing the schedules for the daily cleaning crews to be used after the

startup phase.

We also used his knowledge in project management for two additional projects. James was the coordinator for our Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) project, which involved collecting user needs for both hardware and software on over 250 PC and notebook users. Working with corporate IT, he coordinated the replacing/upgrading of the

hardware and software.

The second project was for compliance with Corporate Asset Management. James provided project support in the identifying and reporting of capital assets.

This was the fourth time in nine years that we have used Jim's project management skills and each time he has fulfilled the job requirements admirably.”
